She has been an adjunct instructor for six years for teachers and principals at the post-secondary and graduate levels. She has taught at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels in math, social studies and English Language Arts. Her professional experiences include leadership in and development of Montessori and public choice options, school consolidation, Freshman Academies, Ford Academy of Manufacturing Sciences, diagnostic and formative data systems, and school reform.
She holds professional educator certification as a superintendent, K-12 principal, secondary social studies and secondary English Language Arts.
Mrs. Mathews said, “I am excited at the opportunities to grow East Voyager Academy in enrollment, academic rigor, and Mandarin proficiency. Parents, students and staff have been very welcoming and enthusiastic. They have already volunteered many hours to help as we embark on our new voyage together.”

Renee Mathews

She published more than ten research papers on language and cultures in different academic journals and presented in several international conferences in the U.S., China, Scotland, Germany, and Canada. She regards intercultural communication and foreign language education as her lifelong career. Mrs. Li is also a professional translator and interpreter, a freelance journalist, and a freelance film producer. The short film “The Little Prince with a Mask”, produced by Li, was selected by the 2021 Lantern & Light International Film Festival in Australia. In her spare time, she likes reading, traveling, playing games, fishing, and relaxing with families and friends.
