Renee Mathews

Mrs. Mathews has extensive Chinese language immersion and public-school administration experience. Previously, she was the Director and Founding Principal of East Point Academy, South Carolina’s first and most successful Chinese language immersion school. Mrs. Mathews has a total of 38 years of experience in K-12 teaching and administration. She has served as a school district superintendent, deputy superintendent, chief academic officer, high school principal, elementary and high school assistant principal and founder of charter schools.
She has been an adjunct instructor for six years for teachers and principals at the post-secondary and graduate levels. She has taught at the elementary, secondary, and post-secondary levels in math, social studies, and English Language Arts. Her professional experiences include leadership in and development of Montessori and public choice options, school consolidation, freshman academies, project-based learning models, manufacturing science and technology programs, diagnostic and formative data systems, and school reform.
She holds professional educator certification as a superintendent, K-12 principal, and teacher.
