Dear East Voyager Academy Family,
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Kris Black has been hired as our new principal for East Voyager Academy. Starting on May 1, 2020, she will join the school's leadership team and oversee the school operations. Dr. Black is an exceptionally caring, organized and effective leader with over 40 years of classroom teaching and administrative experiences. Many of you met Dr. Black during her interview back in March and provided us with very valuable feedbacks, which we are so grateful for.
We are very excited that Dr. Black has expressed tremendous enthusiasm to join our EVA family and work with our administrative team, teachers, staff, parents and students to move us into a new era of academic success. We are delighted to have an experienced leader with her energy and passion embracing our mission of graduating students with English-Chinese bilingual proficiency, strong academics, and intercultural competence. We are confident that under Dr. Black’s leadership, we will successfully get through this unprecedentedly difficulty time with the pandemic. I also want to thank the Principal Search Committee for their time, dedication and wisdom, and thank Jennifer Wu and her administrative team for the marvelous job of maintaining the stability and smooth operations of the school during the transition. Finally, thank you all for your patience and confidence during this process.
Please join me in welcoming Dr. Kris Black to our East Voyager Academy community!
Jian Zhang, Ph.D. Board Chair East Voyager Academy
